Option 1: Fly Ho Chi Minh City to Phu Quoc (Recommended)

VietJet, Vietnam Airlines, and Bamboo Airways fly from Tan Son Nhat Airport (SGN) to Phu Quoc International Airport (PQC) — approximately 1 hour, fares from ~$20–50 USD. Multiple daily departures. From Phu Quoc Airport, Grab or taxi to Duong Dong (main town) ~10–15 minutes (~100,000–150,000 VND) or to Long Beach / Sao Beach (~15–30 minutes). By far the easiest and most popular option.

Option 2: Bus + Ferry via Ha Tien (Budget, Scenic)

Take a sleeper bus from Ho Chi Minh City to Ha Tien (~7–8 hours, ~150,000–250,000 VND), then a Superdong or Thanh Thoi high-speed ferry from Ha Tien to Phu Quoc (~1 hour, ~200,000–250,000 VND). Total approximately 9–10 hours. Much slower and cheaper — worth considering if you want to see the Mekong Delta or have a tight budget. The ferry crossing from Ha Tien is particularly scenic, passing mangroves and offshore islands.
