Option 1: Fly Bangkok to Singapore (Recommended)

AirAsia, Scoot, Thai Lion Air, Singapore Airlines, and many others fly from Bangkok Suvarnabhumi (BKK) or Don Mueang (DMK) to Singapore Changi Airport (SIN) — approximately 2 hours 15 minutes, fares from ~$40–120 USD. Multiple daily departures. Don Mueang typically has the cheapest budget carrier fares. From Changi, MRT to the city center takes ~30 minutes (~$2 SGD). The obvious choice for most travelers.

Option 2: Train Bangkok → KL → Singapore (Scenic Overland)

The classic overland route: overnight train from Bangkok Hua Lamphong to Butterworth (~14 hours, ~$25–40 USD sleeper), then train or bus to Kuala Lumpur (~4 hours), then KTM ETS train or bus to JB Sentral (~4–5 hours), then walk across the Causeway to Woodlands Singapore. Total approximately 30–36 hours over 2 days. An extraordinary journey through the Thai and Malaysian peninsula — worth doing once if you love trains. Not the fastest or cheapest way, but one of Asia\’s great rail routes.

Option 3: Bus Bangkok to Singapore (Budget)

Direct buses from Bangkok\’s Southern Bus Terminal to Singapore run occasionally — approximately 48+ hours including border crossings. Fares from ~$50–80 USD. Very long and not recommended unless you specifically want to travel overland with no stops. Better to break the journey in Penang, KL, or JB and see more of Malaysia along the way.
