Fly Manila to Batanes (Only Option)
Philippine Airlines and Cebu Pacific operate flights from Manila (NAIA) to Basco Airport on Batan Island (BSO) — approximately 1 hour 30 minutes–2 hours, fares from ~$60–150 USD one-way. Flights are infrequent — typically 3–5 times weekly per airline. Seats are limited and sell out far in advance, especially for weekend departures and holiday periods. Book as early as possible — ideally 4–8 weeks ahead. There are also occasional flights via Tuguegarao (TUG) on Luzon, which adds a stop but can open up availability.

Getting Around Batan Island
Batan Island is small — the main towns (Basco, Ivana, Mahatao) are all reachable by tricycle or motorbike. Most travelers rent a scooter (~400–600 PHP/day) for maximum flexibility. Basco town has a few guesthouses and the island\’s only real commercial area. Bring enough cash — ATMs are limited and sometimes out of service; withdraw in Manila before flying.
