Option 1: High-Speed Train (Recommended)

The train is comfortable, air-conditioned, and genuinely impressive for a landlocked Southeast Asian nation.

Option 2: Flight

- Price: from ~$60–120 USD one way
- Airlines: Lao Airlines

Option 3: Bus (Budget / Scenic)
Before the train, buses were the only overland option — a gruelling 9–11 hour journey on winding mountain roads. With the train now available, the bus is rarely worth it unless you specifically want the mountain scenery or the train is unavailable.
- Journey time: 9–11 hours
- Price: ~80,000–120,000 LAK ($4–6 USD)
- Verdict: Skip in favour of the train
